This issue occurs when you try to sign in Microsoft Lync 2013 (Skype for Business) with any presence status. 

When this issue occurs, you're stuck in the sign-in process and can't sign in unless you manually cancel the sign-in and then sign in again.


To fix this issue, install the July 5, 2016, update (KB3115261) for Lync 2013 (Skype for Business).

Note Lync 2013 was upgraded to Skype for Business in April 2015.
