PROBLEM

After you disable the Simultaneously Ring feature for a mobile phone number, you continue to receive incoming calls from the Skype for Business Mobile client. This occurs regardless if the Skype for Business Mobile client is installed.

Workaround

When you install the Skype for Business Mobile client, you're prompted to provide your mobile phone number before logging in. When you log on to the Skype for Business Mobile client, a Static Registration with a unique endpoint ID, is created on an Skype for Business front end server, for the specific mobile device. The Static Registration forward any call going to your Skype for Business phone number to your mobile phone number. The mobile phone number that's entered into the setup wizard during the initial installation of the Skype for Business mobile client is called whether the Simultaneously Ring feature is enabled or disabled for the mobile phone number.To work around this issue and stop the call forwarding, review the following methods, as appropriate for your situation:

  1. Workaround 1: The Skype for Business Mobile client is installed.To resolve the issue, log off the Skype for Business mobile client on the specific mobile device. When you log off the Skype for Business Mobile client on a specific mobile device, the Static Registration for the mobile device is removed from the Skype for Business front end server. After the Static Registration is removed, the Skype for Business calls will no longer be forwarded to the mobile device.

  2. Workaround 2: The Skype for Business Mobile client isn't installed.If the Skype for Business Mobile client was removed without first logging off, the Static Registration for this specific mobile device will become orphaned on the front end server. Also, Skype for Business calls will continue to be forward to the mobile device's phone number and any phone number that you provided when you installed the Skype for Business Mobile client. The forwarding will occur for a 15 day expiration time out period from the last logon using the Skype for Business Mobile client.Notes

    • The 15 day expiration time out period's call forwarding settings are independent from the settings for call forwarding in the Skype for Business desktop client. The settings cannot be disabled from anywhere other than the Skype for Business Mobile client on the specific mobile device, by logging off the Skype for Business Mobile client.

    • Adding an additional phone number on a Skype for Business Mobile client won't remove an orphaned Static Registration and therefore won't stop call forwarding to the mobile device. If you cannot log off the Skype for Business client on the specific mobile device that was used to create the current Static Registration, you have to wait the 15-day expiration time out period before calls will stop being forwarded to the mobile phone number.
