Applies ToMicrosoft Lync 2013

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • The Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) address of your user account contains uppercase and lowercase letters.

  • You configure Microsoft Lync 2013 to use Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Outlook to update your presence information.

  • You create an "Out of Office" (OOF) message in Outlook.

In this scenario, the OOF star and message are not displayed in Lync 2013.

Cause

This issue occurs because your Lync 2013 client is not recognized as the preferred endpoint.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:
