RSOP is not displayed correctly and an error occurs on a Windows Server 2012 R2-based server

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a Windows Server 2012 R2-based server that acts as a domain controller (DC).

  • You use Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) to enable a Folder Redirection Group Policy setting in the following Group Policy path:

    <Group Policy Object Name>\User Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Folder Redirection

  • You apply the Group Policy setting to Windows 7-based client computers.

  • You run Group Policy Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) to obtain the information about Group Policy settings.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

Not Found: An unknown error occurred while data was gathered for this extension

Also, you cannot verify whether the Group Policy settings are applied correctly.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, install the November 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2.
