Symptoms

You use Microsoft Forefront Client Security. If the managed computers have not reported statistics to the collection server for more than 30 days, you experience one or more of the following symptoms.

Symptom 1

You receive the following error message in the Forefront Client Security management console:

Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocationException type:System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException

After you click OK in the error message, you are prompted to unload the snap-in or to exit Microsoft Management Console (MMC).

Symptom 2

Incorrect values are reported under the total number of managed computers.

Symptom 3

The results of the 14-day history report differ slightly from the results that the dashboard fuel gauges display.

Cause

A server-side SQL stored procedure that the Forefront Client Security dashboard uses incorrectly calculates statistics when the managed computers have not reported to the collection server for more than 30 days.
