Symptoms

You create a report that has Tablix column sorting enabled through a Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 control. If the report is created by using Microsoft Report Viewer Redistributable 2010 or Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, the HTML format of the report does not comply with the following standard in the "Web-based Intranet and Internet Information and Applications" section (1194.22) of the "Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility Standards (Section 508)" document:

(a) A text equivalent for every non-text element shall be provided (For example, "alt", "longdesc" or in element content).The rendered HTML source does not have a non-text element (for example: tool tip, alt, title) for the sorting button images (sortAsc.gif, unsorted.gif and sortDesc.gif)

Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Prerequisites

To apply this update, you must have Report Viewer Redistributable 2010 Service Pack 1 or Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 installed.

Restart information

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this update. However, you must restart Internet Information Services (IIS) after you apply this update.To restart IIS, at a command prompt, type the following command, and then press Enter:

IISRESET /RESTARTNote The old version of the Report Viewer control can be used by web applications until you restart IIS.
