Symptoms
Assume that you create a sales order that has the Direct delivery check box selected for an item that has the serial tracking and quarantine management enabled in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1). You run the registration process in the corresponding purchase order. In this situation, when you post the packing slip in the purchase order, you receive the following error message:
Inventory dimension Serial number must be specified.
However, the serial number should be passed from the purchase order to the sales order.

Validation of the application hotfix installation
To validate the installation of the application hotfix, open the SysHotfixManifest class in the Application Object Tree (AOT). Then, verify that there is a method whose name includes the Knowledge Base (KB) article number of the installed hotfix. Additionally, you can cross-check the affected objects by comparing the KBXXXXXX.txt file against the objects in the AOT. By doing this, you can make sure that the objects are changed correctly in the SYP layer or in the GLP layer.
Note The XXXXXX placeholder represents the KB article number of the installed hotfix.
