When you deploy Microsoft Lync Server 2010 in an environment, the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) addresses in the address book file are missing. Additionally, a Lync 2010 client does not show the correct search result.

This issue occurs because the Address Book server incorrectly resets the user data synchronization time before the synchronization starts. As a result, the user data is not synchronized.

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:

2592292 Description of the cumulative update for Lync Server 2010: August 2011

To work around this issue, run the Update-CsAddressBook command on the Lync Server 2010 server.
