This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics AX for all regions.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012:

  • You create an item and set the Production type field to Formula for the item.

  • You create a formula that sets the Line type box to Pegged supply for the item.

  • You create a batch production order for the item.

  • You estimate the batch order.

In this scenario, the system generates a new estimated production order that has a standard production type. Therefore, the order that the system generates is not a batch order as expected.

This problem occurs because the prmisdefault function cannot identify whether a production type is process or standard. Therefore, the system cannot assign the production type as process.
