The value that you select from the lookup dialog box for dimension fields is added to the fields incorrectly in the "Cost Acc. Balance by Dimension" form in the Cost Accounting module in the German version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009

This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics NAV for the German (de) language locale.

Symptoms

When you select the values for the Department Code field or for the Project Code field by using the lookup dialog box several times in the "Cost Acc. Balance by Dimension" form (5000055) in the Cost Accounting module in the German version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, the value that you select at the second time from the lookup dialogue box is added to the first selected value. However, the last selected value should overwrite completely any selected value before.
This problem occurs in the following products:

  • The German version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

  • The German version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009

Code changes

Note Always test code fixes in a controlled environment before you apply the fixes to your production computers.
To resolve this problem, change the code in the LookUpDimFilter function in the "Cost Acc. Balance by Dimension" form (5000055) as follows:
Existing code

IF Dim = '' THEN
EXIT(FALSE);
DimValueList.LOOKUPMODE(TRUE);
DimValue.SETRANGE("Dimension Code",Dim);
DimValueList.SETTABLEVIEW(DimValue);
IF DimValueList.RUNMODAL = ACTION::LookupOK THEN BEGIN
DimValueList.GETRECORD(DimValue);
Text := Text + DimValueList.GetSelectionFilter;
EXIT(TRUE);
END ELSE
EXIT(FALSE)

Replacement code

IF Dim = '' THEN
EXIT(FALSE);
DimValueList.LOOKUPMODE(TRUE);
DimValue.SETRANGE("Dimension Code",Dim);
DimValueList.SETTABLEVIEW(DimValue);
IF DimValueList.RUNMODAL = ACTION::LookupOK THEN BEGIN
DimValueList.GETRECORD(DimValue);
Text := DimValueList.GetSelectionFilter;
EXIT(TRUE);
END ELSE
EXIT(FALSE)
