Introduction
This article describes the issues that are fixed in Update Rollup 5 for Microsoft System Center 2016 Service Management Automation. This article also contains the installation instructions for this update.

How to obtain Update Rollup 5 for System Center 2016 Service Management Automation
Update packages for Service Management Automation are available from Microsoft Update or by manual download.
Important Update Rollup 5 for System Center 2016 Service Management Automation is included in a security update. We do not recommend that you remove any security update. However, Update Rollup 5 can be removed by using the Programs and Updates feature in Control Panel. When you do this, the Service Management Automation binaries will roll back to their previous state, but the database will not roll back. We recommend that you back up your Service Management Automation database before you apply this update rollup.
Microsoft Update
To obtain and install an update package from Microsoft Update, follow these steps on a computer that has a Service Management Automation component installed:

Select Start, and then select Control Panel.

In Control Panel, double-click Windows Update.

In the Windows Update window, select Check Online for updates from Microsoft Update.

Select Important updates are available.

Select the update rollup package, and then select Ok.

Click Install updates to install the update package.
If your computer is running Windows Server 2016 or later, follow these steps:

Select Start, and then select Settings.
-
In Settings, select Updates & Security.

On the Windows Update tab, select Check Online for updates from Microsoft Update.

Select Important updates are available.
-
Select the update rollup package, and then select Ok.

Select Install updates to install the update package.

Download the Service Management Automation update package now.
Microsoft scanned this file for viruses, using the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help prevent any unauthorized changes to it.
Installation instructions for Service Management Automation
To apply this update, follow these steps:

Download the .cab files from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

Extract the .cab file to get the .msp files, and then apply the appropriate .msp files on each computer.
Note The .msp files are included in the update rollup package. Apply all .msp files that relate to a specific computer. Apply one .msp file for each specific role that the server holds for SMA (for example, apply KB4094929_WebServiceInstaller_x64.msp to the server that has the web service role and kb4094929_WorkerInstaller_x64.msp for Runbook worker role).
