Introduction

This article describes the improvements and issues that are fixed in the update for the Azure File Sync Agent (Preview Refresh 2) that's dated June 2018. Additionally, this article contains installation instructions for this release.

Improvements and issues that are fixed

  • Sync fails if a server is added to an existing sync group if reparse points exist in the server endpoint location on the server. In this scenario, the following is logged in the Microsoft-FileSync-Agent/Operational event log:

    Event ID 4035

    Server replica sync failed. Local share name: share_name. Replica Upn: *. Replica path: \\?\D:\UserData. Remote share name: share_name Server device id: id_number. Cluster id: . Error: 0x80c80259 - Unsupported reparse point found. CorrelationId: {3A9BC5F5-BFAD-4964-89BE-5991C8AAE91A} SyncScenario: FullGhostedSync SyncSessionFlags: 4103 SyncDirection: Download.

Note Update rollups for Azure File Sync Agent (Preview Refresh) are cumulative. These updates include all improvements and fixes that were included in the previous cumulative update.

This update is available for Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2016 installations that have the Azure File Sync agent (Preview Refresh 2) installed.

The agent version for this Refresh 2 update is 3.0.13.0.
