About this update

This update expands the functionality of the out-of-date ActiveX control blocking feature in Internet Explorer 11, Internet Explorer 10, and Windows Internet Explorer 9.

To enable this update, install the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To do this, go to Microsoft Update. Additionally, see the technical information about the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer.

NoteĀ This update was first included in March cumulative security update for Internet Explorer (MS15-018).

Currently, if User Account Control (UAC) is disabled on a computer, the out-of-date ActiveX control blocking feature does not function as expected. This update enables the functionality of this feature for configurations when UAC is disabled.
