Use Microsoft Teams with your keyboard and a screen reader to check your voicemail. We have tested it with JAWS and NVDA, but it might work with other screen readers as long as they follow common accessibility standards and techniques.

Recent versions of JAWS no longer have the virtual PC cursor mode set as default for Microsoft Teams. For instructions on how to switch the virtual PC cursor mode on, go to Enable the JAWS virtual cursor.
Check your voicemail

If you are using JAWS, first enable the virtual cursor mode. For instructions, go to Enable the JAWS virtual cursor. To toggle the virtual cursor on or off, press the SR key+Z.

In Microsoft Teams, press Ctrl+5 to access the Calls view. You hear: "Contacts."

Press the Down arrow key until you hear "Voicemail," and then press Enter. The focus moves to the voicemail table.

The voicemail table lists the caller, duration, date, and time of each voicemail message. To navigate the voicemail table, press the Up and Down arrow keys.

To play a voicemail:

With JAWS, press Enter, press the Down arrow key until you hear "Play voicemail," and then press Enter again.

With NVDA, press Enter, press the Right arrow key until you hear "More options," press the Down arrow key until you hear "Play voicemail," and then press Enter.

Check your voicemail

In Microsoft Teams, press Command+5 to access the Calls view. You hear: "Contacts."

Press the Down arrow key until you hear "Voicemail" followed by the number of new voicemails.

Press Return. The focus moves to the voicemail table.

The voicemail table lists the caller, duration, date, and time of each voicemail message. To navigate the voicemail table, press the Up and Down arrow keys.

To play a voicemail, press Return, then press the Right arrow key until you hear "Play voicemail," and then press Return again.
