Symptoms
Assume that you apply a shadow effect to a text box control in a Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 presentation. However, when you print the presentation, vertical lines are printed at the edges of the text box control.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, apply the following hotfix package:

Fix it for me
To enable the hotfix automatically, click the Fix it button or link. Then click Run in the File Download dialog box, and follow the steps in the Fix it wizard.

Install the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 2687607 before you run this Fix it solution.

This wizard may be in English only. However, the automatic fix also works for other language versions of Windows.

If you are not on the computer that has the problem, save the Fix it solution to a flash drive or a CD and then run it on the computer that has the problem.

After you install the hotfix package, follow these steps to enable the hotfix:

Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.

Locate and then select the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0

On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.

Type Gfx, and then press Enter.

Locate and then select the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Gfx

On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.

Type UsePrinterPixelSnapping, and then press Enter.

In the Details pane, right-click UsePrinterPixelSnapping, and then click Modify.

In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

Exit Registry Editor.
