Question:
What is Intrastat and which countries have to consider to use this feature?
Answer:
Intrastat is the system for collecting statistics on the trade in goods between the countries of the European Community (EC). It has been operating since 1 January 1993, and replaced customs declarations as the source of trade statistics within the EC. The requirements of Intrastat are similar in all Member States of the European Union. Statistics on trade with non-EC countries are collected from customs declarations. Therefore non-EC trade must not be declared on the Intrastat declaration.
