Symptoms
Windows Update does not install files on a Windows 10 Technical Preview-based computer that has system compression enabled.Note On a computer that uses a solid-state drive (SSD) as its boot volume, system compression is enabled automatically.
Cause
When system compression is enabled, the method that file system uses to track file deletions may cause the Windows Update installer to think that the temp files cannot be extracted correctly. This prevents Windows Update from completing.

The dates and the times for these files on your local computer are displayed in your local time together with your current daylight saving time (DST) bias. Additionally, the dates and the times may change when you perform certain operations on the files.The MANIFEST files (.manifest) and the MUM files (.mum) that are installed for each environment are listed separately in the "Additional file information" section. MUM and MANIFEST files, and the associated security catalog (.cat) files, are extremely important to maintain the state of the updated components.
