You cannot move certain mailboxes from an Exchange Server 2003 server to an Exchange Server 2010 server

You cannot move certain mailboxes from a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 server to a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 server. Additionally, the following error is logged in the Application log on the Exchange Server 2010 server:

Log Name: Application
Source: MSExchange Mailbox Replication
Date: <Date>
Event ID: 1100
Task Category: Request
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: <Computer>
Request '<mailbox name>' (<GUID>) failed.
Error code: -2147221246
MapiExceptionNoSupport: IExchangeFastTransferEx.TransferBuffer failed (hr=0x80040102, ec=-2147221246)

This issue occurs because the mailbox contains a search folder that has an access control list (ACL) property set. However, the operation to change the ACL property is blocked when you move the mailbox.

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:

2645995 Description of Update Rollup 1 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 2

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

To work around this issue, manually export mailboxes from an Exchange Server 2003 server to a personal folder (.pst) file, and then import the .pst file to an Exchange Server 2010 server.
