Import data from Project into a Visio Gantt chart

Note

To import data from Project into Visio, you must have Project installed on your machine.

  1. Create a new Gantt Chart in Visio.
  2. On the Gantt Chart menu, click Import Data.
  3. On the first wizard page, click Information that's already stored in a file.
  4. On the next wizard page, under Select the format of your project data, click Microsoft Project File, and then click Next.
  5. On the next wizard page, click Browse to locate the Project file from which you want to create a Gantt chart. Select the file, click Open, and then click Next.
  6. Follow the wizard pages to create your Gantt chart.
