Align your shapes in straight lines with even spacing to give your diagram a polished look.
Position shapes manually
- Add a shape on the drawing page.
- Drag a second shape onto the drawing page, and position it near the first one.
Alignment guides show how the two shapes align to each other. - Continue to add shapes and check the alignment guides for even spacing.
Align and space shapes automatically
- Select the shapes you want to align.
To align all the shapes on the drawing page, select a blank area of the page. - Select Home > Position > Auto Align & Space.
Align shapes without changing the spacing
- Select the shape that the other shape will align to.
- Select the other shapes.
- Select Home > Align.
- Select an alignment option to preview the effect.
- Select an alignment that works for your diagram.
Set an equal distance between shapes
- Select the shapes you want to space.
- Select Home > Position > Spacing Options.
- Type in the distance between shapes.
- Select OK.
