If you can’t find your favorites in either location, we'll need to re-import your data from Microsoft Edge Legacy.

Create a backup (Recommended)

Before you proceed with importing data from Microsoft Edge Legacy, we recommend that you take the following steps to back up your data in the new Microsoft Edge.  This will help you restore your browser data to the current state if anything goes wrong.

  1. Close all instances of Microsoft Edge.

  2. Go to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge.  (To view the AppData folder, you must turn on Show hidden files, folders, and drives. To learn how, see View hidden files and folders in Windows 10.)

  3. Copy the User Data folder to a location of your choice.

Note: If you are a Windows Insider trying to import your favorites from a preview build of Microsoft Edge, please refer to the post at How can I import browser data from the Insider preview version of the new Microsoft Edge to the released version?
