Symptoms
Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2012 non-English version. When you install SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 (SP2) Cumulative Update 2 (CU2), the SQL Writer component is patched incorrectly. The setup procedure does not detect the SQL Writer installation, and you receive the following messages in Details.txt:

After the installation, the version of the sqlwriter.exe file is 11.0.5058.0 that is SP2 version. However, it should be 11.0.5548.0 that is SP2 CU2 version.

The issue also occur in SQL Server 2014.
Resolution
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2012 SP2 /en-us/help/3007556
