Are you looking to make your internal communications more engaging and effective? There’s an exciting way to grab your team’s attention! Many Microsoft 365 apps let you embed Microsoft Stream videos directly into your communications and documents, enabling recipients to watch your videos directly in the app they are using. This seamless integration will boost engagement, ensuring your message is seen and understood by more people across the organization.

Tip: Based on analysis of Stream customers, 56% more people watch a video sent to them in email when it unfurls into the Stream player than if it was just a thumbnail with a link.

Your browser does not support video. Install Microsoft Silverlight, Adobe Flash Player, or Internet Explorer 9.

You can insert videos uploaded to SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Viva Engage directly into the following applications:

  • Outlook - While composing an email, paste a link to a video into the email body and it'll automatically unfurl into the Stream video player for people to watch. (Note: This feature is still rolling out and currently only available in the new Outlook for Windows, and Outlook on the web, Outlook for Windows (Classic) is coming soon)

  • Microsoft Teams - While composing a chat message, paste a link to a video in the message and it'll unfurl into the Stream video player. Or you can upload a video file directly to the chat message and it'll store the file in OneDrive putting a playable link into the chat for you. In addition, you can feature a set of videos in a Teams channel using a channel tab

  • Viva Engage - While composing a post, paste a link to a video in the post and it'll unfurl into the Stream video player. Or you can use the Add images or videos button to upload a video directly into the post. The video will be uploaded to your Viva Engage community site or OneDrive for a personal post.

  • PowerPoint - On a slide, go to the Insert tab > Video > Online Videos... > Paste a link to a video. An embedded version of the video will be inserted into your slide.

  • SharePoint pages & news - You can use several web parts on SharePoint pages to feature videos. See building pages and portals with Stream & SharePoint for more information...

  • Word - On a page, go to the Insert tab > Online Video > Paste a link to a video. An embedded version of the video will be inserted into your document.

  • Microsoft Loop - While creating a Loop page or component, paste a link to a video in the page and it'll unfurl into the Stream video player.

  • Microsoft Forms - While adding a question to a Form, Select the insert media icon at the end of the question field > Insert Video > Paste a link to a video. An embedded version of the video will be inserted into your question.
