Symptoms

You remove temporary objects such as temporary tables, table variables, or table-valued parameters in Microsoft SQL Server 2016. In this scenario, significantly increased PAGELATCH_EX contentions occur on the sys.sysobjvalues system base table when you compare it to earlier versions of SQL Server.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2016 RTM

Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2016 Service Pack 1
