This article describes the issues that are fixed in the updated client for Microsoft System Center Configuration manager current branch, version 1610.

Issues that are fixed

  • Newly installed version 1610 clients can't switch from self-signed to public key infrastructure (PKI)-issued certificates until they are restarted.

    Messages that resemble the following are recorded in the ClientIDManagerStartup.log file after client installation:

    Begin searching client certificates based on Certificate Issuers
    Certificate Issuer 1 [CN=xxxx Root CA; O=xxx xxxxx xx xxxx; C=US]
    Finding certificate by issuer chain returned error 80092004
    Unable to find any Certificate based on Certificate Issuers

    Additionally, messages resembling the following are recorded in the locationservices.log file:

    MP 'mp.domain.com' is not compatible LocationServices Persisted AAD on-boarding info. LocationServices


    When this issue occurs, clients cannot communicate with a management point over HTTPS. However, HTTP communication still functions.

    Note You can restart the client to work around this issue.

  • The Install Application task sequence step fails because it can't locate a management point on non-domain joined clients. Errors that resemble the following are recorded in the smsts.log on the client.

    Attempting to get active request.
    GetActiveRequest failed with error code 0x87d01012
    GetActiveRequest failed. 0x87D01012.
