Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You use cache snapshots for a report in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services (SSRS 2016).

  • You enable the "Create cache snapshots on a schedule" option for the report.

  • You create a new subscription in which the schedule option is set to "When the report data is updated (by the cache snapshot schedule)".

In this scenario, when you try to modify the subscription later, you will find that the schedule was changed to "Report-specific schedule" instead of "When the report data is updated (by the cache snapshot schedule)".

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:
