Symptoms

Assume that you have SQL Server 2016 and 2017 Transactional Replication environment. When the Distribution Agent tries to increment command counter for displaying article-wise statistics, an access violation may occur and the replication Distribution Agent crashes. Additionally, a mini dump file is generated.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

      Cumulative Update 12 for SQL Server 2017

      Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2016 SP2

      Cumulative Update 12 for SQL Server 2016 SP1
