Summary

The setting introduced in the "More information" section of this article enables basic coordination of Human Interface Device (HID) device usage in Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business 2016 when in Islands mode to avoid interruptions to meetings and calls. Here're the features that this setting provides:

  • Hold the existing call if Microsoft Teams starts a call.

  • Ignore HID device hook on and off events. This feature stops Skype for Business 2016 from causing the HID device to play a dial tone when Microsoft Teams starts a call.

  • Read and write HID device mute status from the Skype for Business 2016 client only for Skype for Business calls. This feature ensures the mute status of the HID device is consistent when switching between simultaneous active Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business calls.

Note This setting is available for the following client versions:

  • For Click-to-Run installation, the client version should be 16.0.11009.10000 or a later version.

  • For 2016 MSI installation, the client version should be 16.0.4859.1000 or a later version.

  • For Office 2019, the client version should be 16.0.10344.20014 or a later version.
