Improvements and fixes
This security update introduces the SharePoint Server Subscription Edition Version 23H1 feature update. This feature update will be included in all SharePoint Server Subscription Edition public updates going forward. For more information about this feature update, see New and improved features in SharePoint Server Subscription Edition Version 23H1.
This security update contains improvements and fixes for the following nonsecurity issues in SharePoint Server Subscription Edition:

Installs "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) - 14.32.31332" if that version or a later version of the redistributable isn't already installed.

Updates flight configuration to enable the new "certificate private key access management" feature for early release.

Fixes an issue in which the breadcrumb navigation shows an ID instead of a label when you filter a view that's based on a managed metadata column.

Fixes a permission issue that's related to the New-SPSite cmdlet.
-
Fixes an issue in which the default value for Managed Metadata type columns isn't shown in the New Form when you create new list items in the Modern view.

Fixes an issue in which the Modern document library web part doesn't redirect correctly when you create a new Site Page from it.

Fixes an issue in which "Try Link" unexpectedly encodes the link as HTML.

Fixes an issue in which "Copy to" doesn't accept a subsite URL or managed path URL as input. The "Copy to" function still accepts a main site URL.

Fixes an incoming email failure issue because of duplicate users in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).

Fixes an issue in which you might not be able to update resources by using the client-side object model (CSOM) if a remote event handler is attached to a resource event, such as Resource Changing.

Fixes the following issues that you might encounter when you publish projects:

Logging on and connecting to the server that contains the Project client might be blocked.

Opening projects that have no relationship to the publishing projects might not be possible.

Loading projects in the Schedule web part might be slow.

Team members might not be able to access the Tasks page.

Going to the Force Check-in Enterprise Objects administrative page might be blocked.

This issue is fixed in the -
Search service applications cannot be successfully created starting with this security update. The Search Service Application: Search Administration page in Central Administration shows the administrative status of newly created Search service applications as "The search service is not able to connect to the machine that hosts the administration component." Search service applications created before the installation of this security update aren't affected and will continue to function normally.
