Symptoms

After applying the latest cumulative update for SQL Server 2017 and 2019, you may notice that the SQL Server affinity settings are reset.

DateTime Server      Node configuration: node 0: CPU mask: 0x0000000000015555:0 Active CPU mask: 0x0000000000000000:0.

DateTime Server      Node configuration: node 1: CPU mask: 0x0000000555540000:0 Active CPU mask: 0x0000000000000000:0.

DateTime Server      Node configuration: node 2: CPU mask: 0x000000000002aaaa:0 Active CPU mask: 0x0000000000000000:0.

DateTime Server      Node configuration: node 3: CPU mask: 0x0000000aaaa80000:0 Active CPU mask: 0x0000000000000000:0.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and security fixes that were in the previous build. We recommend that you install the latest build for your version of SQL Server:
