These steps are for Microsoft Teams Free only. They won't work if you are using Teams with your work or school account.
In Microsoft Teams Free, you can share everything that’s important to you, like pictures, files, and links.
Share a photo within Microsoft Teams Free
Go to the chat you want to share a photo in.
Tap Actions and apps
next to the Type a message window.Select Media
, where you can: Tap Camera
to use the Camera to take a new picture.Tap Open photo library
to select images from your device.Note
If your Microsoft Teams Free photo library appears blank, select Native Gallery
at the top to view your device's photos.
Once you’ve selected the photo, you can edit the image before selecting Done.
Type a message if you'd like, then tap Send
.
Share a file within Microsoft Teams Free
- Go to the chat you want to share a file in.
- Tap Actions and apps
next to the Type a message window. - Select Attach
, then select from the files on your device. - Type a message if you'd like, then tap Send
.
Note
When a file is shared, chat participants can access files with permission settings set to Anyone with this link. Even when you leave a chat, other participants can still have access to shared and uploaded files. You will need to go to OneDrive to stop or change share permissions.
Share from your device
To share a picture or file, find it on your device and tap Share
.Select Teams from the list of applications.
Note
If Teams isn’t listed in the sharing options, swipe left, select More
, then select Teams to add it to the sharing options.If you have more than one account signed into Teams, tap the down arrow by your profile picture and select which account you'd like to send from.
Enter a message in the Type a message field if you'd like.
You can Search people or groups
, or you can choose from the Recent chats list.Tap Send
.
You can also send a link to a OneDrive file in a chat.
