Summary

This security update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted Office file. Improvements and fixes

This security update contains the following improvements:

  • A new registry key has been added to provide more control over object macros security. The "RestrictObjectMacros" DWORD registry key under HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Office/12.0/Excel/Securitysupports the following values:

    0 (or not present) – Default behavior 1 – Strict 2 – Lenient 3 – None (not recommended)
