Symptoms

Assume that you run an application that has a driver that uses static streams for USB 3.0 devices on a Windows RT 8.1-based, Windows 8.1-based, or Windows Server 2012 R2-based computer. When the driver loads the Uasstor.sys driver to close the streams, the computer crashes. Additionally, you receive a Stop error message that resembles the following:

KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Cause

This issue occurs because the driver does not close the streams dynamically. The driver incorrectly closes the streams as part of destroying the endpoint object itself.
