Symptoms

Assume that you perform a file operation from a Windows 7-based or Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer to a remote server. However, if you cancel the file operation, the server message block (SMB) connection to the remote server may be reset.Note This issue occurs when the redirector (mrxsmb20.sys) receives a response to a canceled request.

Cause

This issue occurs because of a race condition in the redirector when the file operation is canceled before the network sending process is complete.
