Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You install PCI Express Fiber Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) on a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008. For example, you install a Brocade converged network adapter (CNA) mezzanine card.
-
You configure the computer to start from a hard disk drive that is connected to the HBAs.
-
You try to shut down or hibernate the computer.
In this scenario, you receive a Stop error message that resembles the following:
STOP: 0x000000B8 (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)
Notes
-
This Stop error describes an ATTEMPTED_SWITCH_FROM_DPC issue.
-
The parameters in this Stop error message vary, depending on the configuration of the computer.
-
Not all "Stop 0x000000B8" errors are caused by this issue.
If you receive the same error on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
2490742 A "0x000000B8" Stop error occurs when you try to shut down or hibernate a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
Cause
This issue occurs because the Pci.sys driver tries to perform an operation (for example a wait, an attach, or a yield operation) that is not permitted during Deferred Procedure Call (DPC) processing.

Then, restore the settings later by using the netsh exec command.
For example: To back up and export the ipv4 settings to a script file, run the following command:netsh int ipv4 dump scriptfileTo restore these settings from the script file, run the following command:
netsh exec scriptfileFor more information about the netsh command, visit the following Microsoft websites:
Using NetshYou can also install hotfix 979101 to fix an existing issue with the netsh int ipv4 dump command and to make sure that this workaround works correctly. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
