Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have the Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications (SUA) feature enabled on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

  • You install Microsoft Utilities and Software Development Kit (SDK) for Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications on the computer.

  • You use SUA utilities together with wildcard characters against a folder that has more than 101 files. For example, you run the following command to list the text files of a folder that has more than 101 text files.

    - ls -l *.txt

In this scenario, SUA utilities may quit unexpectedly.

Resolution
