Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 fix release.

Symptoms

When you rebuild a partitioned index in Microsoft SQL Server 2012, the value of the NORECOMPUTE property for the partitioned index is not retained.

For example, assume that you create a partitioned index, and then you set the STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTEproperty toON. Then, you rebuild the index without setting the STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE property to ON or OFF. In this situation, the NORECOMPUTE property is unexpectedly set to 0. Therefore, the STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE property is set to OFF.

Notes

  • To check the value of the NORECOMPUTE property, query the Sys.stats system table.

  • This issue occurs only when the table is not empty.
