Summary

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Excel 2013 hotfix package that is dated August 13, 2013.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When an Excel 2013 object is embedded in a Microsoft Word document, you cannot programmatically obtain the Excel process ID from the document.

  • When a workflow is enabled for a location on a Microsoft SharePoint server, you cannot save a workbook to the location multiple times. When you try to save the workbook to the location multiple times, you receive the following error message that points to a temporary file location on the server:

Microsoft Excel cannot access the file '<Temp File Location>'. There are several possible reasons:
The file name or path does not exist
The file is being used by another program
The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook

  • When you insert or delete a row in a table that was created by using an XML map, Excel 2013 crashes.

  • When you print a shared workbook that is password protected in Excel 2013, Excel 2013 crashes.

  • When you use the PasteSpecial function to paste some content into an inactive worksheet of an inactive workbook, the content is not pasted in the location that you specified. Instead, the content is pasted into an active worksheet.
