Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You use the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 that is included with Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 to query an IBM DB2 table.

  • The IBM DB2 table contains columns that use the IBM DB2 GRAPHIC data type.

In this scenario, the query results that are returned from the IBM DB2 GRAPHIC data type columns are displayed as Chinese characters.

Cause

This problem occurs because the Host Integration Server 2010 OLE DB Provider for DB2 does not correctly handle data conversions from UTF-16 big endian to UTF-16 little endian.

Resolution

Cumulative update information
