Introduction

This article describes update 2863843 for Microsoft Office 2013 that was released on April 8, 2014. The download links for this update are also included in this article.  This update provides the latest fixes for Office 2013. It includes stability and performance improvements.

Download and install the update

You can use Windows Update to download and install the update (recommended). To get the stand-alone package for this update, go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website.

Note This update applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2013. This update does not apply to Office 2013 Click-to-Run edition such as Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium.  

  1. Start an Office 2013 application such as Microsoft Word 2013.

  2. On the File menu, click Account.

  3. For Office 2013 Click-to-Run edition, an Update Options item is displayed. For MSI-based Office 2013 edition, the Update Options item is not displayed.

Issue that this update fixes

  • Assume that you have a Visio file that contains a text value that is added by using Custom Formula or Shape Data. When you try to search the Visio file by searching for the text value in Windows Search, the Visio file is not included in the search result.   1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. If you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then click Search.

  2. Type windows update, tap or click Settings, and then tap or click View installed updates in the search results.

  3. In the List of updates, locate and then tap or click update 2863843, and then tap or click Uninstall.

Windows 7

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.

  2. Type Appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.

  3. Click View installed updates.

  4. In the List of updates, locate and then click update 2863843, and then click Uninstall.
