This update is no longer available. To fix the issues that are described in this article, install the latest Microsoft Office update from the following Microsoft Learn article:

Latest updates for versions of Office that use Windows Installer (MSI)

This update is replaced by update KB2956149 and is no longer available. If you have already installed this update, install KB2956149 to obtain the new version of this update.

This article describes update KB2920732 for Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 that was released on February 10, 2015. This update also applies to Office Home and Student 2013 RT, which contains PowerPoint 2013. This update has a prerequisite.

Please be aware that the update in Download Center applies to Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2013. It does not apply to the Office 2013 Click-to-Run editions such as Microsoft Office 365 Home. (How to determine?).

Improvements and fixes

  • Improves the stability of PowerPoint 2013 when you play animations in a PowerPoint presentation.

  • Improves reliability when you perform copy or paste operations by using VBA code in PowerPoint 2013.

  • Improves localization of the copyright information for the screen recorder to make sure that the meanings are accurate in multiple language versions.

  • Improves the usability of PowerPoint 2013 so that you will be able to record your inking actions when you record a slide show. Also, you will be able to insert a video recorded from the screen into the PowerPoint presentation. (This improvement is not available in Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 RT)

Note To enable this improvement, you must also have update KB2889846 for Office 2013 and update KB2920798 for Office 2013 installed.

  • Fixes the following issues:

    • Assume that you add the Align Selected Objects command and the Align to Slide command to the quick access toolbar in PowerPoint 2013. When you select two or more objects, the alignment status on the quick access toolbar may differ from the current settings.

    • Assume that you open a PowerPoint presentation that contains one or more <emma:one-of> elements in PowerPoint Web App. When you save the presentation, the <emma:one-of> elements are lost.

    • Consider the following scenario:

      • You create a new presentation in PowerPoint 2013.

      • You insert a video that contains the link to the video, for example, by clicking Insert -> Video -> Video on My PC, selecting a video, clicking the drop-down arrow on the right side of the Insert button, and then clicking Link to File.

      • You break the link of the video, for example, by clicking File -> Info -> View Links -> Break Link, and then clicking Close.

      • You go back to the presentation and undo the break link operation.

In this scenario, you may experience the following issues:

      • You cannot change the source of the video, for example, by clicking File -> Info -> View Links -> Change Source, selecting a new video, and then clicking Open.

      • The View Links link is still enabled even after you break the link again, for example, by clicking File -> Info -> View Links -> Break Link, and then clicking Close. Additionally, the second break link operation does not appear in the undo history.

    • You cannot undo or redo the operations in the Outline view of a PowerPoint 2013 presentation.

    • When you edit a text box in a PowerPoint 2013 presentation and the default tab stops on the ruler are set to 0" apart, PowerPoint may crash.

    • When you insert a photo taken on a smartphone, tablet, or digital camera into Word, Excel, or PowerPoint 2013, although the photo will appear in the correct orientation in the insert dialog on Windows 8 or 8.1, the photo may appear in the wrong orientation in the document.

Note To resolve this issue, you must also have update KB2956085 for Word 2013, update KB2920753 for Excel 2013, and update KB2889846 for Office 2013 installed.
