Symptoms
In an environment that has many distribution points (hundreds or thousands) in Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager, the distribution of content packages is delayed.Additionally, the following entries are logged in the DistMgr.log file on the site server:~A site control change notification has occurred, it will be handled before returning to sleep.DP registry settings have been successfully updated on <Distribution Point 1>DP registry settings have been successfully updated on <Distribution Point 2>DP registry settings have been successfully updated on <Distribution Point 3> Note You can see these log entries during usual operating conditions, also. This problem can be indicated by a continuous looping through the list of distribution points in the DistMgr.log file even though no settings have been changed.
Cause
This problem occurs because the Distribution Manager component incorrectly detects a settings change on all distribution points, and this causes the delay.
