Applies to: System Center 2025 Data Protection Manager
Introduction
This article describes the new features and issues that are fixed in Update Rollup 1 for Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2025. It also contains the installation instructions for this update.
Note: Existing Data Protection Manager to Microsoft Azure customers should upgrade to the latest agent (version 2.0.9249.0 or later). If the latest agent is not installed, online backups may fail, and no Data Protection Manager to Microsoft Azure operation will work. Recommended to update to latest version 2.0.9274.0 and above for better Online backups and restores.
Issues that are fixed
Data Protection Manager 2025 Update Rollup 1 fixes the following issues:
-
DPM was unable to protect SQL Server instances when the 'force encryption' option was set to 'Yes'. Protection now works correctly with encrypted connected enabled.
-
VMware VM backup previously ran on HotAdd transport mode with VMDK files remaining attached to MABS server. The backups now run on NBDSSL transport mode.
-
Content on the recovery page was incorrectly displayed in English instead of the localized language. Recovery page now respects the configured language settings.
Note: A fresh installation of the Update Rollup agent could cause a restart of the protected server.
In addition to the above fixes, all the issues fixed in SCDPM 2022 UR3 and DPM 2025 are also included in DPM 2025 UR1.
Other Improvements and Features
-
SCDPM 2025 UR1 also has additional new features introduced. For details on the new features, refer to the documentation here.
