Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You create an accepted domain in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment.

You use a wildcard character (*) in the Accepted Domain field to accept messages for both a domain, and for a remote trusted domain.

You try to view the calendar information or the free/busy information about a user who is in a different domain.
In this scenario, the MSExchangeAutodiscoverAppPool application pool crashes on the Exchange Server 2010 Client Access server. Additionally, the following events are logged in the Application log:

Description:A process serving application pool 'MSExchangeAutodiscoverAppPool' suffered a fatal communication error with the Windows Process Activation Service. The process id was 'Process ID'. The data field contains the error number.
Cause
This issue occurs because the domain cache does not support an accepted domain that contains a wildcard character. When the Exchange Server 2010 Client Access server processes a request for an accepted domain that contains a wildcard character, an exception is thrown.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:
