This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics NAV for the following countries and language locales.

  • English (Canada) (en-ca)

  • English (United States) (en-us)

After you post a credit memo for the purchase order by using the Get Return Shipment Lines function, zero values are posted to the generated general ledger entries unexpectedly. Additionally, zero values are displayed in the vendor ledger and the detailed vendor ledger.
This problem occurs in the following products:

  • The North American version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Code changes

Note Always test code fixes in a controlled environment before you apply the fixes to your production computers.
To resolve this problem, change the code in the AddSalesTaxLineToSalesTaxCalc function in the Purch.-Post codeunit (90) as follows:
Existing code

...
IF "Qty. per Unit of Measure" = 0 THEN
"Qty. per Unit of Measure" := 1;
IF "Document Type" IN ["Document Type"::"Return Order","Document Type"::"Credit Memo"] THEN BEGIN
MaxInvQty := ("Return Qty. Shipped" - "Quantity Invoiced");
MaxInvQtyBase := ("Return Qty. Shipped (Base)" - "Qty. Invoiced (Base)");
IF PurchHeader.Ship THEN BEGIN
...
MaxInvQty := MaxInvQty + "Return Qty. to Ship";
MaxInvQtyBase := MaxInvQtyBase + "Return Qty. to Ship (Base)";
END;
END ELSE BEGIN
IF "Receipt No." = '' THEN BEGIN
MaxInvQty := ("Quantity Received" - "Quantity Invoiced");
MaxInvQtyBase := ("Qty. Received (Base)" - "Qty. Invoiced (Base)");
END ELSE BEGIN
MaxInvQty := (Quantity - "Quantity Invoiced");
MaxInvQtyBase := ("Quantity (Base)" - "Qty. Invoiced (Base)");
END;
IF PurchHeader.Receive THEN BEGIN
MaxInvQty := MaxInvQty + "Qty. to Receive";
MaxInvQtyBase := MaxInvQtyBase + "Qty. to Receive (Base)";
END;
...

Replacement code

...
IF "Qty. per Unit of Measure" = 0 THEN
"Qty. per Unit of Measure" := 1;
IF "Document Type" IN ["Document Type"::"Return Order","Document Type"::"Credit Memo"] THEN BEGIN

// Add the following lines.
IF "Return Shipment No." <> '' THEN BEGIN
"Return Qty. Shipped" := Quantity;
"Return Qty. Shipped (Base)" := "Quantity (Base)";
"Return Qty. to Ship" := 0;
"Return Qty. to Ship (Base)" := 0;
END;
// End of the lines.

MaxInvQty := ("Return Qty. Shipped" - "Quantity Invoiced");
MaxInvQtyBase := ("Return Qty. Shipped (Base)" - "Qty. Invoiced (Base)");
IF PurchHeader.Ship THEN BEGIN
...
MaxInvQty := MaxInvQty + "Return Qty. to Ship";
MaxInvQtyBase := MaxInvQtyBase + "Return Qty. to Ship (Base)";
END;
END ELSE BEGIN
IF "Receipt No." = '' THEN BEGIN
MaxInvQty := ("Quantity Received" - "Quantity Invoiced");
MaxInvQtyBase := ("Qty. Received (Base)" - "Qty. Invoiced (Base)");
END ELSE BEGIN

// Add the following lines.
"Quantity Received" := Quantity;
"Qty. Received (Base)" := "Quantity (Base)";
"Qty. to Receive" := 0;
"Qty. to Receive (Base)" := 0;
// End of the lines.

MaxInvQty := (Quantity - "Quantity Invoiced");
MaxInvQtyBase := ("Quantity (Base)" - "Qty. Invoiced (Base)");
END;
IF PurchHeader.Receive THEN BEGIN
MaxInvQty := MaxInvQty + "Qty. to Receive";
MaxInvQtyBase := MaxInvQtyBase + "Qty. to Receive (Base)";
END;
