Copilot in Teams helps you work smarter. In the Copilot tab, you can summarize conversations, draft responses, and gather quick insights.

Copilot is available for Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, or Premium subscribers with a Teams personal account. Learn more about AI credits and limit.
Chat with Copilot
You can chat with Copilot. You can select pre-selected prompts or write your own.
Select the Copilot tab.
In the Message Copilot box, you can type or use Start dictation of your own prompt. If you’re not sure what to ask, you choose:
Pre-selected prompts such as:
Translate the following text into English (United States)
Suggest a few subjects for the following email
How’s this grammar?

Prompt Gallery- View examples of prompts. Use saved prompts, or you can narrow your search by Task and Job Type.
You can upload files and images to your prompt that Copilot can reference when generating a response by selecting Add content, where you can choose from:
Add content- Add content from your personal OneDrive
Upload files- Add a file from your device
When you’re ready, select Send. Copilot will then start generating a response to your prompt.
Select Start a New Chat at any time to start over.
Chatting options
When you receive your Copilot results, you can choose to:
- Copy
- Select I like something or I don’t like something
- Share prompt and copy response
- Read aloud
To continue your chat, select a pre-selected prompt or Prompt Gallery.
View past chats
Select Expand Navigation glyph where you can select:
New chat - Start a new chat.
Chat - Select or search for chat from the previous seven days. You will also see a list of your past conversations. Select More where you can:
- Delete - Delete a chat.
- Rename - Change the name of a chat.
All chats - View all your past chats by date and time.
