Symptoms
"Runtime error '429': ActiveX component can't create object" This error occurs when starting the FDM Load, FDM Import Wizard, or when opening a .dts package.
Cause
One or more DLL files failed to register during the installation of the FDM Load or FDM Import Wizard program.
Resolution
Resolution Register sqldmo.dll, axscphst.dll, dtsffile.dll, dtspkg.dll, and dtspump.dll files, all of which are located in the C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft SQL Server\\80\\Tools\\Binn folder.
