GESTEP (number, [step]) The GESTEP function syntax has the following arguments: Number Required. The value to test against step. Step Optional. The threshold value. If you omit a value for step, GESTEP uses zero.

Select the text where you want to add a hanging indent. Go to Home > Paragraph dialog launcher > Indents and Spacing. Under Special, select Hanging. You can adjust the depth of the indent using the By field. Select OK. To add a drop cap to your paragraph, see Insert a drop cap.

On the Indents and Spacing tab, under Indentation, select First line. Select OK. Select OK again. Note: If you always want first-line indentation whenever you start a new document, choose the New documents based on this template option before you select OK.
