Windows 11 in S mode is designed for security and performance, exclusively running apps from the Microsoft Store. If you want to install an app that isn't available in the Microsoft Store, you'll need to switch out of S mode. Windows 11 in S mode is only available in the Windows 11 Home edition.

Update the device driver. In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager. Select a category to see names of devices, then right-click (or press and hold) the one you’d like to update. Select Search automatically for updated driver software. Select Update Driver.

If you have Windows 10 Home in S mode and your PC meets the minimum hardware specifications for Windows 11, you can upgrade to Windows 11 Home in S mode. Windows 11 in S mode is only available in the Windows 11 Home edition.

Many PC games let you play with an Xbox Wireless Controller instead of a keyboard or mouse. You can connect your controller to a Windows device by using a USB cable, the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, or Bluetooth.
