Before you can use Authenticator as a way to sign in, you need to download the app and have already added Authenticator to your accounts. To turn notifications on, set the toggle to On and expand the Calendar section. Select how you want to view your reminders—for example, do you want to get a popup reminder—and whether you want a notification sound.

Troubleshoot problems with Microsoft Authenticator
Microsoft Authenticator acts as a secure repository for your account credentials to help you authenticate and access various applications conveniently. Authenticator may list inactive accounts that are created by other applications that use Authenticator for single sign-on support.
How to use alarms and timers in the Clock app in Windows
Keep your laptop or tablet plugged in and make sure the volume on your device is high enough to hear the alarm or timer. To respond to an alarm, select Snooze, or Dismiss the alarm to stop it entirely. If you need to change the time zone of your clock, go to Settings > Time & Language > Date & time.
Send an email message with a follow-up reminder in Outlook
To add a reminder for yourself, select Follow Up > Add Reminder. Enter the date and time for when you want the reminder dialog box to appear. A flag on a message to recipients adds extra emphasis. A flag appears in the message list and text appears above the From line in the message.
